Ask Jackie: how easy is it to get access?

Created by Jackie Highe in Ask Jackie, No contact

انظر الصفحة انظر هنا Q: We  have been denied access  to three of our grandchildren. We have been advised that we can apply to the courts for mediation, which would entail someone speaking to the children to ask them if they would like to see us. If this was agreed, then the next step would be access and this would be determined by the court. It all sounds very easy, but is it that easy to do? Please please please help, my youngest grandchild has chronic liver disease and we are so frightened as we think she has been in hospital again. Many thanks.

موقع الاسهم السعودية A: You don’t say why you’ve been denied access so I can’t speculate on how an application might turn out. You need to see a solicitor, who will help you prepare and list your reasons for wanting access. The fact that your grandchild is ill might influence the court. If your grandchild has been used to seeing you and loves you, then you need to point this out – it might work in your favour too.

There are specialist solicitors who take on this kind of work -  and you do need a specialist. Social services or the Grandparents Association will give you contact numbers.
