It was designed by teachers who use phonics to teach children to read. It is primarily aimed at pre-school kids and those aged up to 7 years old.
Talking Tom Cat (free)

Grow your Garden (£0.69)
click Grow your garden is great for early schoolers. It makes learning maths easy and fun with interactive arithmetic puzzles. It takes a little while to get the hang of it but once you work out you need to use the correct watering cans to make up the water drops on each plant and fill up the right number of drops, it’s a great way of getting young children to do simple maths.
Angry Birds (free)
go here Love it or hate, Angry Birds is a worldwide phenomenon. You can now also get the board game (which we can recommend!) and other derivatives. This app is great for children of all ages from about 4 years old upwards. There are a number of different Angry Birds ‘scenes’ you can download for free too eg Space. Sometimes a bit of frivolous fun doesn’t hurt?
Thomas & Friends: Engine Activities (free)
