Abigail & the Balance Beam
Adorable talking rabbit is instantly captivating
A bit of gimmick
When I was young, children’s books had simple colourful drawings to capture my attention. As a parent I was able to buy books that were beautifully illustrated. We then had taped books that could browsed whilst listening to the story and in the last few years it has been a toy and a story about it. So when E and I opened the box with Abigail in it, we were amazed to find that this gorgeous soft rabbit had hidden talents. This cuddly toy came with a book called Abigail and the Balance Beam. To our amazement, as we were reading the book, Abigail joined in. This adorable rabbit and what she could say instantly captivated us. This toy is using technology in a very positive way. It is a high quality soft toy and I can see that a child would easily relate well to it. The story that comes with the rabbit is sweet as its about Abigail trying to make her mother extra proud of her. Would I buy this speaking toy/book? I think I would, as a special gift for a little girl. Do I like the concept of a talking rabbit? I am not so sure about that as I find it a bit gimmicky but then I am not a 5-year-old child. It certainly has become a hit with granddaughter E as Abigail is now her constant bed buddy.
