The first step is to register online and then decide on the subscription package and the reading level of books that you wish to borrow. One can chose from starting at Bronze level (swap twice a month) to Gold level (unlimited). Each swap is sent in a pre-paid envelope and new books are sent by return of post. I made no choice as to the type of book that could be sent; only that it would be suitable for a pre-reader. The package arrived with 4 books from different schemes. The scheme encourages us to keep the books in the red book bag in order to stop them getting muddled with school books. I did lose the pre-paid envelope but luckily I was able to go online and request another one to be sent. All you need to do to move up a reading level is log into my account and change the book preferences. It couldn’t be easier. It’s really a great idea, but it’s a bit like borrowing books from the library, one has to put the books in a special place that is easily accessible to the child but also can be found easily. I suppose the red bag is the answer! Get £5 off by entering code SUMMER2012.
