Gtech SW20 Power Sweeper

Lightweight, simple operation, good cleaning results
Flimsy handle, expensive
This product is a handy lightweight, battery powered sweeper. Its good points are: lightweight, simple operation, manoeuverability, easy to charge, cleaning results, on/off switch position, extending handle, stair cleaner. Its bad points are: flimsy, price, handle removal. The pro’s outweigh the con’s by a good way. The unit has had good use on the top floor of our property, our hoover is very heavy to carry upstairs so this lightweight sweeper fills the gap nicely. It is easy to move around and low enough to go under most furniture, the handle will rotate as you sweep so getting to difficult places is easier. The cleaning results have been good: the rotating brush picks up most bits and also brushes up the carpet pile. Having a cat, which moults only too readily, it’s good to find it is very effective on pet hairs. The main handle can be removed leaving a small handle to hold which enables you to clean stairs and furniture. It would be nice to have a stronger handle, this one feels flimsy, in addition it is difficult to separate once put together. A main point made is the use of the base handle to clean stairs but with ours it is very difficult to get the main handle out to allow you to do this. The main users of this sweeper are likely to be elderly and those with poor eyesight and arthritic hands would find this manoeuvre impossible. This is overall a good, but expensive, sweeper.
