Galvanized pipes
Hello all,
We recently went to visit my sister. She is 6 months pregnant. Her house seemed to be very old, probably built during the 1960s or 1970s. I noticed that their home has galvanized pipes for water supply. I have read a lot of articles about the dangers of galvanized steel pipes. The corroded pipes can begin to release accumulated lead into the tap water which can cause health problems for children and pregnant ladies. I'm really worried about my sister's safety. I told her about the danger which the galvanized pipe may cause. She told me that she'll soon upgrade the plumbing system and will not drink that water until upgradations. I'm a bit relieved now.
If you have galvanized pipe in your home, please make sure that you upgrade it soon. Don't let your kids drink the lead accumulated water.
