Huh. 'Will consider'. Means nothing. They've rejected any help for grandparents who assist with childcare, even the comparatively small measure of being able to claim some tax exemption.

As for grandparents who bring up children as a consequence of the parents' inability to do do, there is the option of a Special Guardianship which will provide some financial support.

As ever, these are weasel words which mean nothing.

Oh, and remind me. Is there an election coming up?

I seem to remember this being banded about for the past "how many years" ? my eldest DGS is 23 now and there was talk when he was born so they are still considering it are they ? certainly taking their time as I have helped with the other 6 DGCs since he was born so I will stand first in line for any tax relief please, back dated 20+ years if you don't mind.

If it does miraculously come about, how good that will be!
