Smile Aquafit!

This morning my friend and I went to an aquafit class. I used to love aquafit and for years I went weekly, often twice weekly if I had time. I haven't been for years, not sure how long exactly but over 5 years. I think it is a lot longer since my friend went to a class. Neither of us had been to this pool before
We really enjoyed it, and were exhausted and hot at the end! The instructor saw my friend on her way out of the changing room and asked it we enjoyed it, and said we did very well for our first class
We can't go next week, but hope to go weekly, and most weeks we should be able to

As I said to my friend - we have earned our pancakes tonight

Glad you enjoyed it Beth - I went once, years ago, with DD and it nearly killed me!

LOL, Jane. My friend and I had the same fear, but were glad to see most ladies were a similar size and shape to us!
The evening aquafit class I used to go to had lots of young, slim, bikini-clad lovelies.Daytime classess are better, get you get the 'older lady' and more varieties of shapes!

I know not all 'mature' ladies are large, before anyone is offended, I know lots of you are slim ladies

Well done, Beth! You have definitely earned pancakes - plus maple syrup

Right - so I need a daytime class, definitely not an evening one!

Is it similar to the Acquasise classes that Anne goes to?

That's right Jean. Sometimes it's called Aquafit (it is in all our local pools) but in other places Aquacise, or aqua-aerobics

I went to the gym yesterday for my first visit after my op. I've known the staff for a long time and the lad who devised my programe has been working with me for ages. At the moment I'm just using body weight to complete the routine, apart from a couple of exercises using hand weights. We had a few laughs along the way with me trying to bend over from waist, keeping back straight and keeping shoulders back,oh and knees slightly bent and all this starting from leaning with my back against the wall ! Thought I was going to be walking out of gym like a hunchback!
Will keep this programe until I feel ready to move on to more strenuous stuff.
Was going to get dropped off by OH on his way to work earlier and walk back along river, but the rain has started in earnest so I'm missing out on that.
Fingers being exercised though!
