Question

Considering all that has gone on on the forum today...will anyone actually be here to discuss the book tonight??

Default Every last one

I thought that a good starting point on discussing this book is to focus on the characters.

So who in the novel do you most empathise with and why?

Is it?

Mary Beth – mother
Glen – father
Ruby -17 year old daughter
Alex and Max – 15 year old twins
Alice - Mary Beth’s college friend
Kiernan – Ruby’s boyfriend

Well I'm here and as I haven't been able to talk to anybody about this book I am really looking forward to it

Well I empathise with Mary Beth. I loved being a Mum and I have had many of her thought processes. Being fair, trying to see all sides but always very much my daughters Mum. One thing I have never done though is think about which sibling I loved the most as Mary Beth did about her daughter Ruby

I didn't find it an easy book but I would have to say Mary Beth.

Mary Beth for me too. As mothers I suppose it's inevitable we would. I haven't thought which child I love most either, Lorna. I have 3 daughters though, maybe if I only had one like MB, it may be different?

I feel for Max. He's overshadowed by his siblings, but he has a lot to offer in his own way.
