For all you debutants of e-readers (Christmas presents) Have you come across Gutenberg, at this site you can download all the classics and also books that have come out of licence for free.
I downloaded Wilkie Collins, The Woman in White, one of the great mysteries, if he was alive now his name would dominate TV. Wodehouse, if you are a fan etc. go and see. We could all download one for the book club as it firsts arrives on your computer then transfer to your reader. Just a suggestion. OFG. I felt like you, but they are great for holidays, you can select your books but no problem carrying hardbacks. Also when I was ill over Christmas, I used it in bed as it was easier then trying to hold a book, also if there is a new book you want, the e-reader gives you instance gratification!! |

I didn't know, until a friend told me recently, that you can download library books. She said that when the 3 weeks is up, they just disappear from your Kindle!
I don't have a kindle, but thought I would would hop into the discussion anyway

I am very tempted to buy a Kindle but I am not a great reader, it might encourage me to read a bit more. I read more in the summer. My eyesight is getting poor and I thought it was a good thing that I can increase the size of the print.
