We do cards, and sometimes a special meal at home. Bit awkward going out on that night when you are a same sex couple! Our anniversary was February 1st (5 years) so we went out that night, kind of anniversary and Valentines combined

I was with my husband for over 30 years and we always exchanged cards. I think it's nice to, though some of my married friends don't do it

Cannot believe you feel uncomfortable Beth going out with OH its nobody's buisness but your own and really people particularly the younger end are more acceptable and it takes all people to make a world

I'm afraid OH and I don't even exchange cards. In fact he's never celebrated Valentine's Day with me since we got engaged in 1972! His very unromantic view is that Valentine's Day is for the unattached - and once you've made a commitment, you don't need to bother any more. I don't agree and would love to receive a card or flowers - but he rarely buys me flowers, unless I'm ill, which isn't often. He's a lovely man really, but was never brought up to make a fuss of anyone - I blame his mother!

After 40 years we don't bother with cards - sometimes have a nice meal at home but this year he is out for most of the day so won't have time.

Jjoj, you made me laugh
I'm still smiling in fact!
Thank you, and you Tinker. I don't really care if people think we are a couple when we are out together. Some maybe do, some assume we are just friends. Somehow it seems different on Valentines night. I agree with you though that it shouldn't!

My husband will be working a late shift otherwise we would have a nice meal in with a bottle of fizz (and not lemonade!). We do always do cards and usually a small gift but it is difficult these days to find something to give him. Even though we used to be florists he never sends me roses on Valentine's Day, if he sends anything in the way of flowers it will be hand tied tulips.

Beth listen to Jjoj!!! She is usually quite bonkers (no offence meant Jean ) but she is spot on today!
