Default got kieran for the night.

my daughter fell down the last couple of stairs today,She rang me at work and said she had fallen down the stairs and was unable to stand. I had to get cover before i could leave as i work in preschool. Just as I was leaving she phoned and said she had managed to get up and she would come down to me. she was very lucky as she had kieran in his car seat at the time, she said when she fell she some how managed to land kieran quiet gently onto the floor. Her ankle was badly swollen, and she was having problems trying to walk, also she have to be careful as she has a low platelet count so her blood dont clot correctly. I told her at 4 when I got home from work to go to A+E to get it checked and I would have Kieran, She was there for 3 hours, had xray as they thought she had broken it but its turned out to be badly sprained. I told her I will have Kieran for the night as he is teething, so she could have a good nights sleep.

I hope your poor daughter is better soon, Rosie

What a good mum you are to stand in like that. I hope you get some sleep tonight!

Nannyrosie - I hope both you and Kieran slept well. Are you keeping him today as well? You poor daughter - but it could have been so much worse. Thank goodness you were there to help.

sprained ankles are sometimes more painful than breaks. At least breaks can be put in plaster and you can get about. Hope it improves soon.

Oh nannyrosie thank goodness they were both Ok! How did we ever manage to walk downstairs carrying babies? I got to be careful myself when I walk downstairs on my own let alone carrying a child! Anyway glad they were both allright even though sprains can be quite painful, hubby last year fell over on first day of hols in Madeira (thanks to the poor state of paviments over there) and spent 5 painful days with his foot propped up and packed in ice till we managed to get back home!

kieran was very good last night after taking 1hr 15 mins to get him to take 100 mls of milk, i got him to sleep within 20 mins, put him in cot at 8pm he cried out once during the night very slightly and woke at 6-50 am this morning. Had a fight with him to give him his 5 meds then another fight which lasted over a hour to get him to have 90mls of milk. yes i did have him all day but mummy came round to be with us. kieran would be a perfect baby if you didnt have to feed him.
DD ankle is more swollen today and most of her foot is brused. Hospital said as long as the brusing dont start going up her leg it will be ok.
Kieran has gone home to night as i am at playschool all day tomorrow.
