About the courses
Designed to be taken alongside the mother-to-be, the Grannynet Courses aim to equip the granny graduates for their role as grandparents and to inform them on all things relating to modern parenting.
The courses available should be attended in preparation for the arrival of the grandchild or in preparation for mum going back to work and childcare responsibilities increasing. Endorsed by Mothercare, the classes are being run by a registered midwife and the Grannynet team.
What will I get from the course?
The main aim of the Grannynet Course is to help those who attend get up to speed on the latest in modern parenting advice, these include…
- Advice that you just won’t find in books. Our courses are run by experienced teams who have really been there and done that!
- Because we cover first aid in the course, you will leave with more confidence and the skills to cope in case of an emergency.
- Our Mothercare expert is there to help you get to grips with the minefield that is modern equipment, specialising in areas which can cause most confusion. She also brings with her a useful goodie bag to help you along the way!
- A chance to meet other local grandmothers and mothers in an informal and friendly atmosphere. We also have a voluntary contact list of attendees so you can meet up again.
- Dedicated time together to plan for your new roles. This provides a chance to bond and discuss potential conflicts before they arise in a more stressful situation.
- Grandmothers are not just told that things have changed since they had children, but the reasons behind these changes.
