here We can carry the anger and resentment around with us for the rest of our lives, it will not only effect us but everyone around us.

أسهم الأمارات I believe that if  we can learn to forgive we can let go of all the anger,  resentment and a need  ’ to get our own back ‘ on people who have caused us such pain.

go It is not that you ever forget what someone has done but we need to be able to be released from those feelings of revenge, it is in the past, the past is something we can not change, but we can make a difference to the future.

go It takes a great deal of strength to forgive someone who has caused us or our family such pain, but what is the alternative?

Guilt is an emotion that is really hard to carry around with us, perhaps we need to ask ourselves why are we feeling guilty. Be prepared to forgive ourselves, not always an easy thing to do.

Don’t confuse guilt and shame.

Guilt can cause changes and improve a situation, whereas shame can be toxic and it can feel as though it is eating you up from the inside and trying to get peace in your life is increasingly difficult.

If we ask for forgiveness in things we may have said or done, should we not then be prepared to forgive others who have hurt us?

Forgiving someone takes an enormous amount of strength of character, an ability to overcome resentment against others and  to hide hurt feelings.

Remember, not forgetting but forgiving.

“The weak can never forgive. Forgiveness is the attribute of the strong.”
- Mahatma Gandhi
