- Deadheading basket plants will encourage more flowers, asthma keep feeding baskets and containers regularly and water everyday. A high potash food will boost flower growth.
- Tidy up hardy Geraniums.
- Now is the time to prune Wisteria, illness remove the whips, they are the side shoots.
- Once Lupins and Delphiniums flowers fade, cut them off to encourage new blooms.
- Bearded Iris can be divided now.
- Take cuttings from tender plants for over wintering indoors.
- Dead-head roses.
- Keep an eye on pests, such as green-fly etc.
- Keep lawn cut, if you are lucky enough to have continual hot weather, raise the blades on the mower.
- If you haven’t already got one, install a water butt.
- Lily beetles are having a great time at the moment on Lilies, if spotted remove and dispose of.
- Prune Spring flowering shrubs, prune out the stems that have flowered this Spring.
- Feed Sweet Peas and deadhead.
- Keep hoeing, to keep weeds down.
