Ask Jackie

A warm welcome to our new Agony Aunt, Jackie Highe

jackie highe

Jackie has spent more than two decades working in the media, for national magazines and newspapers and been top of her profession, first as editor of Parents magazine and, for fourteen years, Editor-in-Chief of Bella, Britain’s biggest-selling women’s weekly magazine.

During her first eighteen months with Bauer (Bella’s parent company) she also devised and brought to launch, Take a Break, a combined puzzles and real-life story magazine, now selling 1.5 million a week. At this point she spent two years in New York, editing a new monthly launch for Bauer, then returned to Britain to continue with Bella.

Jackie does a lot of TV and radio work, and is a regular contributor to BBC radio, plus commercial stations. But we are also impressed by Jackie’s ‘other’ life – that of a jazz singer/songwriter. Is there no end to this woman’s talents?

She is the author or two books; ‘Now, Where Did I Put My Glasses? Caring for your elderly parents, a practical and emotional lifeline’ (click here for more information) and ‘The Modern Grandparents’ Guide’ (click here for more information).

Jackie and her husband of 42 years, have five granddaughters, aged between 11 and 5.
