grannynet welcome

Grannynet is the Grandparents' Website - with tips and support for Grandparents and our new Grandparents' Charter

Grandparents' Charter - WE NEED YOUR HELP!

Here at grannynet we want to help you get the most out of being a grandparent and that means tackling some of the bigger issues that your new role involves. One such issue is the whole area surrounding childcare ...

  1. Is it too hard to say "No"?
  2. How often would you like to look after your grandchildren?
  3. Should the government incentivise parents who use grandparents as childcare providers?
  4. Who should be deciding on the methods of discipline when your grandchild is in your care?

From all of your answers we will get a clear picture of what you think is, and is not acceptable when it comes to childcare. From this we will produce our grannynet Grandparents' Charter - a set of guidelines for grandparents and parents to refer to when embarking on any childcare arrangements to make it work successfully for both parties. In order to give us your view we need you to register. Join Grannynet here ...

New Articles ...

We have just added a great new article all about how to look after your feet ... so they can continue to look after you! Go to our Health & Wellbeing area of "Looking After You" to take a look!

We also have a new article on living away from your grandchildren (see International Grandparents in the left menu above) which has been written by one of our members, Pauline Chambers - it really is a beautiful and honestly written source of ideas. Remember you can contribute an article by sending it to contribute@grannynet.co.uk.

A website especially for grandparents ...

Grannynet is a place created especially for grandparents to share time, stories and useful advice with one another.

Tips for grandparents looking after grandchildren and looking after themselves ...

We have tried to make sure that there is something for everyone on Grannynet. So although you can find some great ideas to help you in your role as a grandparent, we have also designed a section to help you to use the internet for your own interest.
