Congratulations to Clare Hull who won a signed hardback copy of Miriam Stoppard's "The Grandparents Book".
Her beautiful piece of writing entitled "This life was about to move on ... " can be viewed in the Family Life section of our Grandparents guides - it really is lovely. And thanks so much to everyone else who entered the competition, we were really torn!
Grandparents Plus has this week published the report "The Poor Relation? Grandparental care: where older people’s poverty and child poverty meet". This is an interim report from a project funded by the Equality and Human Rights Commission which explores the intersection of older people’s poverty and child poverty around grandparental care, with a particular focus on groups who are already at risk of poverty.
You can access the report from our Grandparents Charter section (there is a box on the left hand side of that page) along with many other very interesting and relevant documents. Let us know your thoughts on the forum as this really is becoming a big issue for grandparents.
We have tried to ensure that there is something for everyone on grannynet. So although you can find some great ideas to help you in your role as a grandparent, we have also designed a section to help you to use the internet for your own interest.
Happy clicking!!
